In December of 2002, Modern Courts' Capital District sponsored a forum entitled "Judging the Judges: The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct." The forum examined the Commission's mission, procedures, resources and remedies, and was designed to educate the general public about the work of this important body.  Participating panelists were: former Commission member Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Juanita Bing Newton; the Commission's Deputy Administrator and Counsel, Robert H. Tembeckjian; Commission Member Stephen R. Coffey, Esq.; and former Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal and Chair of the California Commission on Judicial Performance, Hon. John T. Racanelli. The forum, co-sponsored and held at the New York State Bar association, was moderated by NYSBA President Lorraine Power Tharp, Esq.
